Ocean Organisms Regulate Earth’s Temperature
Blue and Green: Researchers from the University of East Anglia (UEA) have found miniscule organisms in the world’s seas help to regulate the Earth’s temperature. Scientists found that a bacterial group, named ‘Pelagibacterales’, are keeping the atmosphere around the Earth stable. The research was published in journal Nature Microbiology on Monday.
The project was led by Prof Steve Giovannoni and Dr Jing Sun at Oregon State University, in collaboration with researchers from UEA among others.
