Solar companies demand £2.2m in damages from DECC over feed-in tariff fiasco
BusinessGreen: The fall-out from the government’s controversial decision last year to cut solar incentives before the completion of a consultation on the proposed cuts looks set to rumble on, after three solar firms today approached the government to request damages totalling £2.2m.
The companies are seeking compensation after the High Court, Court of Appeal, and Supreme Court all ruled this spring that the government’s handling of the cuts to solar feed-in tariffs (FITs) was “unlawful and unfair”.
